About us

We Love Serving Our Local Community

CARES provides services to individuals and families in Farmington Hills and the seven other surrounding communities in Oakland and Wayne Counties. CARES operates a family pantry with food choices available to food insecure guests. Also on our Campus of Hope is a small community grocery store open to all, resource for AA, NA, WIC, suicide prevention, and other 12-step support group meetings.

Many of those struggling live in our service area. Our mission is to offer comprehensive support services for individuals and families who are in need or who have limited access to everyday necessities due to insufficient financial resources or family instability.

Empower Change

Volunteer Today, Transform Tomorrow

The backbone of our organization is our volunteers. CARES stands as a beacon of hope and support, driven by an unwavering commitment to uplift lives. Through their tireless dedication, CARES extends a helping hand to those in need, nourishing both bodies and spirits. As volunteers pour their time and efforts into this noble cause, illuminating paths of kindness and empowerment for a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow. Feed A Family

As CARES launches it’s “Feed a Family” campaign, the idea echoes a simple yet impactful sentiment: For those blessed with plenty to share, extend that generosity year-round. As this campaign kicks off, we encourage those who can afford $25 a month to join us in insuring us that our neighbors in need don’t go hungry, not just today but every day of the year. Together, our small monthly contributions can create a lasting impact, filling not only plates but also hearts within our communities.

Get involved

Make a difference

There are three easy ways to be involved in our organization: donating money, volunteering time, or offering professional services. A monetary donation can go a long way in supporting our organization’s goals, while volunteering time can make a direct impact on the lives of others. Additionally, offering your professional services can be a valuable contribution to help our organization achieve its mission.

Consider which option best suits your interests and availability, and get involved in making a positive difference in our community.

Duck Race

Every August, the community comes alive with the quacky excitement of CARES’ annual Duck Race! This vibrant event, organized with heart by CARES, rallies neighbors for a day filled with joy and goodwill. With each duck sponsored, the community contributes to CARES’ impactful initiatives, from feeding the hungry to supporting local causes. As the rubber ducks cascade down the winding river, the air buzzes with anticipation, promising thrilling prizes for the lucky winners. It’s a day where community spirit meets playful competition, all for a cause that unites and uplifts.
